Walter Baltis-Developer.

Walter Baltis was born September 19, 1904 and became a major player in the construction of homes in Westchester.  He was married to Marie Nevdlik.  His children were Phyllis Paul (married to L. James Paul), Joan B. Lindstrom, Bonnie Hutchison (married to Robert Hutchison) and Rita Sheese. 
In the 1950s Walter Baltis donated 7.75 acres of undeveloped land to the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago which in turn deeded it to the Divine Providence Parish.  The newly acquired parish land fronted on Mayfair Avenue some 600 feet from 2400 south to 2700 south.
At the time of his death in 1986, he was the loving grandfather of 14 and proud great-grandfather of nine.  His brother was Paul (Emily) and the late Helen Udric.

Walter Baltis died in February, 1986.  At the time of his death he was a resident of Riverside.  He is buried in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
